Panzer divisions had two artillery battalions, each of twelve 10.5cm howitzers, while the motorised infantry divisions had three battalions. These provided the core of their artillery support. Although the Germans called these light artillery, their howitzers are much heavier and more powerful than most countries' divisional artillery.
